She was a shallow character, which is why I didn’t like her. In the first book Ida was just a mean girl who didn’t want to be the Chosen One. I think that shows how well written these ladies are and I love it!Įspecially Ida grows a lot in this sequel, because we get to see the world from her point of view, which didn’t happen in the first book (if I remember correctly). Okay, it’s been a year or so since I’ve read the first book, but I don’t remember one particular girl (well, maybe Ida) despiting them hating each other. These girls grow on you so quickly, even in the first book where they all dislike each other. Really I love the characters in Fire. They’re just so diverse and still I can sympathize with everyone. Fortunately in Fire you get both: an city where witchcraft exists and is very powerful and five amazing characters. A well written character in a universe that doesn’t make much sense is (in my opinion) better than a terribly written character in an amazing universe. You know how characters can make or break a story. Meanwhile a local spirirtual grouping is growing in the little city of Engelsfors everyday and Anne-Karin might be facing punishment for using magic without permission.’ After their first encounter with real demons at the end of the school year and a summer of their personal demons, they have to get back together and prepare for another encounter. ‘Minoo, Linnéa, Vannessa, Ida and Anne-Karin are witches and are Chosen to stop the apocalyps.
